Opponents the NY Giants Have Faced Are Irrelevant

As week six has officially begun, I hear a lot of fans, critics and experts talking about how the first five games of the season the New York Giants have not played anyone good. The teams they have beaten are a combined 6-19. My question to all the people who say this is, aren't the Giants already a proven winner? Here are the accomplishments this team has built up over the past few seasons.

  • The Giants have been to the playoffs four straight seasons.
  • The Giants have a 19-4 record on the road over the past three seasons.
  • Here is a list of teams the Giants have beaten on the road over those three seasons. Don't forget this Giants team hasn't changed much in regards to players. If anything they got "weaker" at receiver which is being proven wrong each week.

    • at Green Bay (freezing Temperatures and crowd noise)
    • at Pittsburgh (crowd noise)
    • at Philadelphia
    • at Arizona (dome noise)
    • at Dallas (105,000 screaming Texans)

The Giants have been in many shootouts since their Super Bowl season in 2007. And over their first five games this season, they have done what most teams can't. And that is totally dominate their opponent when they are supposed to. Look at the Cowboys for instance they are a good team that had to beat a rebuilding Chiefs team in overtime.

The Saints are a very good team, they have a great offense and a defense that is causing turnovers. But to think that because the Giants haven't played anyone like them and that the dome noise will hurt the Giants is in my opinion crazy. This team knows how to win games and most importantly, close games in a hostile enviorment.
