Camp Battle: Wide Receiver
Guys like Mario Manningham (pictured above) make it a very tight and difficult race for a guy like David Tyree to make this team. The guys that will make this team are obvious. They are listed below.
- Steve Smith - #1 Receiver
- Domenik Hixon - Worth to much to let go, he can return kicks and has upside as a receiver (http://tinyurl.com/n5yhab)
- Mario Manningham - Jury is still out him, he was just drafted last yr. Its not time to give up on himbecause of the tremendous upside he still obtains.
- Hakeem Nicks - #1 draft pick 3 months ago, hes not going anywhere
- Ramses barden - Another recent pick that is catching on quicker then everyone thought. Jerry Reese said on WFAN yesterday that they expect him to contribute this season.
There is a serious battle for that sixth and seventh spots. I know, your saying, "seven?!?!" Yes Seven, there is no way they will let Derek Hagan go. He was a highly touted college player that couldn't develope in a disfunctional Dolphins organization. He is having an amazing camp right now. I believe they will keep him since right now there really is no clear cut #1 target at receiver. And you never know he may become a great receiver down the road.
The last spot I believe will goto Sinorice Moss. He also is having a great camp, but once again is sitting out of practice this morning due to a hamstring injury. He needs to figure out how to get back on the field and contribute. So that leaves the super bowl hero David Tyree to be the odd man out. Right now barring a miracle, I believe this will be the outcome.
