Kenny Phillips Placed on IR, Giants Claim Safety Rouse
The New York Giants have officially place safety Kenny Phillips on the injured reserve list according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark-Star Ledger. As sad as it is Kenny Phillips' 2009 season is over after only two weeks. Since the Giants have only two other active safeties they were awarded Aaron Rouse off of waivers from the Green Bay Packers. Rouse was released yesterday by the Packers aafter starting the first two games of the season. I'm sure this means C.C. Brown will be moved up the depth chart to replace Phillips as the starter.
For more information on Aaron Rouse check out his stats & info . He is 25 years old and is in his 3rd season out of Virginia Tech.. Rouse has 4 INT's and 90 total tackles in his young career. My guess is that he was released by the Packers because he may have had trouble fitting into Dom Capers new defense.
