New York Giants - Arizona Cardinals Week 7 Preview

When:  Sunday October 25th at 8:20pm
Where:  Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
TV:  NBC

Another week and another game against a very good opponent that can throw the football down the field. The New York Giants will be hungry after last weeks embarrassing loss to the New Orleans Saints. Here are my thoughts on the game.
  • The Giants need to prove that they have the best defensive front seven in the NFL by getting to Kurt Warner and making sure he is not comfortable in the pocket. Bill Sheridan is going to need to blitz the middle and get immediate pressure,  if the front four can't penetrate the offensive line quick enough.
  • I really believe the Arizona secondary is vulnerable to the passing game,  and the Giants may have to many weapons to handle. With Arizona leading the league in run defense, look for the Giants to pass down field and push the safeties back. I believe the trio of Smith, Manningham and Nicks will be to much for the Cardinals to contain in this game. This may also open up the running game for New York.
  • With Domenik Hixon back as the kick returner look for some big plays. He had a huge game in Arizona last season returning kicks and I would expect nothing different in this game.
  • Its about time for Brandon Jacobs to come out and make a statement running the ball. I am going to go out on a limb here and say he will break 100 yards rushing.  Even with the Cardinals having a good run defense I have a feeling Bradshaw and Jacobs will be highly productive.
Prediction: Giants 31  Cardinals 21
