NY Giants - Oakland Raiders Week 5 Preview

When: Sunday October 11th at 1pm
Where: Giants Stadium  East Rutherford, NJ
TV: CBS

When the Giants take the field on Sunday they will look to avoid a letdown against the 1-3 Oakland Raiders before they travel to New Orleans next weekend to play the undefeated Saints.

What to watch for...
  • Two of the biggest questions coming into the game will be if Eli Manning will play and play effectively.  I do believe he will play and he will have a solid game with two touchdown passes and an interception.
  • Steve Smith vs.Nnamdi Asomugha -  Most people have Asomugha as the top corner in the NFL.   We will see how he does covering the NFL's top receiver through the first four weeks of the season.
  • Giants will need to stop Michael Bush and Justin Fargas to force JaMarcus Russell to throw the ball.  The Giants want Russell to throw the ball so they can force turnovers and make this a long day for the Raiders.
  • The Raiders don't have to bad of a defensive line,  now that they have Richard Seymour.  He has come to Oakland and has quietly proved that he is one of the top defensive ends in the league.
  • Its time for Lawrence Tynes to show that he can cconsistently convert the field goals he is supposed to make inside the 30 yard line.
Prediction:  Giants 27  Raiders 13
