Chase Blackburn: A True Giant

He's not the fastest or the quickest athlete. He's not the strongest player. But, you can plug him into your defensive unit to play any linebacker position and your team wouldn't even miss a beat. He can line up with the special teams unit and make his presence known. He can make a critical tackle on a third down and short play. His name is Chase Blackburn and he is coming into his fifth year with the Giants out of the University of Akron. Blackburn was an undrafted free agent that the Giants signed back in 2005. He has made his name as a great special teams player, who has always maintained the ability to get down the field and make plays. Just recently he has even taken his game to a higher level by starting some games last season at linebacker. He has played in 63 out of 64 regular season games in his career. The last game he missed was in his rookie season. One of the most intriguing qualities of Chase, is his intelligence and knowing what to do by being able to read the field. He has learned from Antonio Pierce over his first four seasons, which has helped his growth tremendously. Chase contributed with 61 tackles and a force fumble last season. Which are very good stats for a player who is not a full time starter. He is a jack of all trades guy, that is willing to do whatever it takes to help the Giants win. He is one of many team players on the roster that propels this team to greatness.
