Expectations On Brandon Jacobs Are To High

Relax Giants fans Brandon Jacobs, is not soft, not worried about getting injured, not losing his desire, and not giving up.

He is doing what he is exactly supposed to do.  And that is make defenses fear the Giants running game and wear them out along the way.  Don't forget,  when Jacobs was injured last season and missed some time,  the Giants running game slipped and it wasn't do to how well he was playing. It was due to the fact that teams didn't account for the run as much which hurt the Giants passing game.  The Giants offense is a run first offense that goes hand in hand with the passing game.  They need the running game to feed the passing game by being successful running the ball. 

Yes his stats are lower this season then usual with only 3.6 yards per carry, which isn't terrible.  He has a total of 355 yards on the ground with 1 touchdown this season.  The number that I can say is not good is the amount of touchdowns he has scored. 

In the end some argue Ahmad Bradshaw's production is because of Jacobs and I agree.  Teams load up the box against Jacobs and once Bradshaw comes in they back off.  It is just the way teams play the Giants and they have been able to take advantage of it.

As the seasons rolls on and the cold weather comes in,  Brandon Jacobs will get better and better.
